Dynamic Distribution
Dynamic distribution using a static lookup list lets you distribute publications based on a given slice. This powerful feature enables you to set a schedule whereby the publication will be sent to a given list of email addresses, according to a specified slice. This way you can easily ensure that each recipient receives only the information that is relevant to them. Publications may be dynamically distributed via the bulletin board and via email.
For instance, add a Country slicer to the publication, then set the email distribution to send publications according to the country. This way you can generate a separate copy of the report for each country, and send each copy to the relevant recipient; send the USA report to the USA marketing team, while sending the EMEA report to the EMEA marketing team.
Note: The emailing option is not operational unless messaging services have been enabled in the admin console first.
Note: Sending as an attachment is available only with the Extended Report Bursting License.
Set a Dynamic Distribution
Publications may be distributed to the bulletin board or via email using a static or dynamic list of either roles or users. Distribution to the bulletin board is a good way to share publications with colleagues who have access to Pyramid. Email distribution enables you to reach users who don't have access to Pyramid.
When configuring a dynamic distribution, it's important to set the correct preferences in both the Selections and Distribution windows.
Slicer Selections
From the Selections window, choose Multiple, then select the slicer elements that should be used to render the report and to lookup the distribution list. If you're publication contains multiple slicers, choose the slice combinations by which each copy of the report should be filtered and sent.
Use Dynamic List
The dynamic list option is exposed from the Distribution window if the publication contains a slicer. Select this option to import a list of roles or users, and dynamically distribute the publication to recipients according to given slicer elements. The dynamic list may be imported, or it can be configured in the PQL Editor.

Configure a Distribution List
There are two ways to configure a dynamic list:
- File mapping allows you to import an existing list of users or emails.
- Data mapping enables you to build a dynamic list in the PQL editor.
