The Canvas is the main area of the Tabulate workspace (red box). It is essentially a spreadsheet, with all the functionality of similar items in applications such as Excel.
The canvas, located in the middle of the workspace, is where you build and design your tabulation. Content items, spreadsheets, visualizations, and slicers are added to the canvas, where they can be adjusted using formatting, editing, and calculations as required.
