Email Templates

Email templates allow the customer to custom-design the look and feel of emails that will be sent to end-users. Admins can create email templates to be used in the platform. Once created, the email template can be set as a default template for a tenant and will be automatically used for all emails used in the tenant.

The email templates page is the central manager for adding, editing, and deleting email templates in Pyramid.

The page shows the list of existing email templates in the system. Clicking on a specific email template will open a page where you can edit the settings for the email template. Use the checkboxes and the buttons at the top of the page to manage multiple email templates.

Email Templates list

The Email Templates list shows all templates in the system that you have access to. Enterprise admins will see all templates, while domain admins will see only emails assigned to their own domain. Each item in the list displays the following columns:

Actions

Action buttons to interact with a template. The actions include edit, duplicate, delete, export, and audit trail (where applicable). Note that the exported file will be a .pet file and can be imported later.

Basic Details

  • Name - The email template's name.
  • Default - The default email template to be used across the system (see below).
  • Secured - Indicates that the email template has been secured for a specific tenant (see below). If secured, then a tenant can be selected.
  • Tenant - The tenant where the email template has been secured (optional).
  • Created By - The user who created the email template.
  • Created On - The date on which the email template was created.
  • Modified By - The user who last modified the email template.
  • Modified On - The date on which the email template was modified.
  • Version - The current version number.

Default Templates

By selecting the Default checkbox, you indicate that the template will be used as the default email template all standard template types. For more information about the types, see Add or Edit an Email Template.

Tip: You can override the default email template for a single tenant in the tenant default settings if desired.

Secured Templates and Tenants

By selecting the Secured checkbox, you indicate that the template is secured for use for a particular tenant. If you select this option, you also need to select a Tenant from the corresponding drop-down.

Enterprise admins can edit and view all email templates, but domain admins can only edit and view unsecured email templates and email templates that have been secured for tenants they can access.

Overhead options

  • Add a new template.
  • Import a .pet file email template.
  • Delete one or more selected templates.
  • Apply any changes.

Add or Edit Email Templates

You can add a new email template from the overhead options or edit an existing template by clicking Edit in the Actions column.

Importing templates

Templates can be imported by clicking on the Import button on the top-right of the page.
