Pro User Profile
The Pro user profile provides access to all features available in Pyramid, while allowing access to be limited for each app in the application. The Pro user profile is normally given to advanced users (Admin users, BI developers, and data workers) and has a master switch for each of the apps in the application - Model, Discover, Formulate, Tabulate, Present, Publish, and Illustrate - determining whether the Pro users can open these applications and create associated content. Under these main switches are several sub-switches.
Add a Pro User Profile
Profiles are added from the Admin Console:
- In the left-hand menu, select Access > Profiles.
- From the row of tabs at the top of the page, select Pro.
- Click Add Profile at the top-right of the page.
- Specify the basic details of the profile:
- Name: Each profile should be given a simple name.
- Description: Provide a light description of the profile for management purposes.
- Tenant Security: Each profile is attached to a specific tenant in a multi-tenant environment, ensuring each tenancy can set up its users according to its own needs.
- Select Access and features as needed.
- Once you are happy with your selections, click Save.
The Profiles admin page opens.
Your selection here indicates the type of user that this profile applies to. For more information about user types, see User Types.
The Add Profile panel opens at the bottom of the page.
See below for details of the Access and Features settings for this type of profile.
The profile is created with your name and Access and Features settings.
Make this the Default Profile
To designate a profile as the default, select the Default checkbox for the required profile and click Apply. One default profile can be defined for each tenant. Tip: You can filter or sort the profile list by tenant to make it easier to select the correct profile.
When you create a new user, they are assigned the appropriate default profile based on their user type and tenant:
- If a default profile exists for the user type and tenant, that profile is used.
- If no default profile is defined for the user type and tenant, then the user is granted all available permissions for their client license type.
Note: You can override the default profile assignment by assigning a profile directly to a user or by assigning them a role that specifies a profile. The default profile feature is intended to save you time and effort when creating new users.
