Runtime settings in Present Pro

Runtime settings configure some of the behaviors and options that apply when a presentation is launched at runtime. These settings define the scope of interactions between visual instances on different slides in your presentation, enable and disable options on the panel tools, right-click context menus, and so on, customize the data model hierarchies that are shown to users in the Dice, Add, and Swap context menus, and customize any presentation timers used for slide shows or regular query refreshment.

Most of these options help your users to make the most of their runtime view and user experience. They also allow you to disable options due to privacy or governance; for example, allowing you to disable drill functions from the model access options, thereby stopping users from drilling-down into data that is not relevant to the presentation.

Runtime interaction scope

Indicate whether interactions between visuals at runtime should apply to only one instance of that visual or whether it should apply globally (to every instance in the presentation). For example, if slide 1 and slide 2 include the same visual, this option indicates whether both should be updated with reference to a selection from a slicer or whether the selection should only affect the instance of the visual on the slide where the selection is made.

Runtime settings

Select the capabilities that should be available to viewers when a presentation is launched at runtime. The runtime settings control whether options are available at runtime on the right-click context menu, as panel tools along the top of the visuals, and so on. For example, clearing the Lasso checkbox removes the lasso and auto lasso panel tools for all visuals in the presentation.

Model access at runtime

Customize the hierarchies that are shown to users in their Dice, Add, and Swap context menus. This is useful where there are actions and hierarchies that you want to disable due to privacy or governance, or where "slimming down" model access enhances the user experience for viewers. A typical example of this functionality may be to restrict the size of the sub-menu when your users are performing a dice or swap action.

Runtime timers

Configure timers that control how long Pyramid should wait before either opening the next slide in the presentation (when cycling between the different slides) or refreshing the current slide. Note that the timer only applies to presentations that are being viewed at runtime.
