Visual Formatting
The following article covers formatting options available at the visualization level. These functions are located in the Component and Slide ribbons.
Access the following from the Component ribbon. To show the functions in the Component ribbon, click on a visualization:
Click Show Panel to show the selected visual within its own panel "bounding box".
Enabling the Show Panel function also enables Title and Subtitle by default. These can be disabled by clicking the buttons in the ribbon alongside Show Panel (see above).
From the Show Panel drop-down menu, click More Panel Options. The Formatting Panel opens. You can use these options to reset additional Panel Settings (or Slide Panel Settings). Fonts can also be changed, and a custom title added if required.
Panels can also be enabled and disabled from the Slide ribbon and Panel Settings can be accessed by right-clicking on the visual to open its context menu. For more information, see Show Panels.
Open the Scale Mode menu to apply a scale to a visualization. This will enable scaling of the visual when the size of the canvas, page, or window is changed. For details about the different scaling options, see Scale Modes.
Open the Background menu and select a color and change the color of the visualization background.
When working with grids, open the Grid Alignment menu to align the grid within the visualization.
Click on a visualization to enable the Arrange options in the Slide ribbon.
The visualization tooltip appears on visuals when the presentation is in edit mode. Hover over the information icon to view the tooltip. The tooltip displays content location and metadata:
- The name of the content item
- The item's description (if one was given)
- Where the content item is saved
- The content item's data source (model, database, and server)
