This topic is all about accessing Present Lite, either when you create a new presentation or when you open an existing presentation from the content management system or home page. The process that you follow depends on where you are in the app and whether you already have a module open or not.
Note: Present Lite is where business-focused users design and create their own presentations, and where they edit and update the presentations they share with other users. Users with advanced or additional access to Pyramid, will see their presentations in Present Pro when opening them at design time (as an editor).
Tip: In addition to opening your presentation at design time, you can also view and interact with its content at runtime. For details describing how to access the runtime version of the presentation, including using a direct URL link, see Running Presentations
Create a new presentation
You can typically create a new presentation in Present Lite from the Pyramid home page or by creating and opening a new tab.
Home page
If you want to launch a new presentation from the home page (blue arrow below), simply click Present (yellow arrow) from the App Toolbox:
Tip: If you want to build a new presentation that contains your first discovery by default, you might, alternatively, want to make use of Smart Present. This tool may be available from your home page, depending on configuration.
New tab
If you want to launch a new presentation while you have any module open, click New Tab (designated by the + icon) and select New Presentation from the App Tabs menu:

Once you have opened Present Lite, you will be presented with the New Presentation page. Tip: You can just click Create on this page to accept the default layout and create your new presentation.

Open a saved presentation
An existing saved presentation can be opened from the content explorer, the home page, or using the quick open menu.
Home page or content management system
Important: Your home page is opened from the Home icon in the App Toolbox. This page is highly configurable both by your administrator and by yourself, which means that its content may not include all of the tabs or options you see in our examples.
Wherever you see an explorer-style list of content items (from your Home Page or in the Content Manager), you can open any presentations on the list using the right-click context menu:
- Right-click the Ellipsis (...) and select Open from the menu (green arrow).
- If the presentations are shown as a list (details or content view), right-click anywhere in the row representing the presentation (snapshot, name, or any other value) and select Open from the context menu.
- If the presentations are shown as tiles, right-click anywhere in the name panel and select Open from the menu.
Tip: You can change which type of list is used for a panel using the view options to the panel's top-right (purple highlight).
Note: Double-clicking the snapshot opens the presentation at runtime. It is the equivalent of selecting View on the right-click context menu.

Quick open from App Tabs
Quick Open (green arrow) offers a fast way to find and open content without leaving the App Tab interface. Click this option to open an explorer-like interface and access files from your private folder (My Content) and any Workgroup or Public folders you have access to. The pop-up also contains a "search by name" facility and lets you open files from Recent and Favorite locations. For more information, see Quick Open.
