Publish

Publish is the tool for generating pixel-perfect, highly formatted reporting content that can be distributed to thousands of end users.

Publish is one of two modules in Pyramid dedicated to sharing your visualizations and discoveries (Present is the other). In Publish, you'll build highly graphical and explicitly designed templates comprising data visuals and illustrations and text. Once built, you can then "run" your templates (on a scheduled basis) producing 'materialized' reports in formats like PDF, Excel, Word Documents or PowerPoint presentations, which can then be distributed and shared with colleagues and other recipients.

Publish Interfaces

Given its prominence, Pyramid offers multiple ways (aka "modalities") to access Publish , with varying degrees of functionality and sophistication.

Publish comes in various levels of sophistication based on application entry point, user license type and user profile settings. These configurations and options are typically orchestrated by system administrators - who can ensure the right interface is presented to the right person at the right time.

Publish tools are presented in three core modalities:

  • Smart Publish: an AI-driven tool for helping non-technical users to build analytical content using augmentation engines and heuristics. It offers users the simplest method for building data visualizations in Pyramid through a simple point-and-click wizard.
  • Publish Lite: fully self-contained toolset for non-technical users to construct their own data visualizations and Publication dashboards, without entering any other module.
  • Publish Pro: the full Publish toolset for drag-and-drop, point-and-click publication building, dynamic text and infographics, and dynamic scheduled distribution WITH ALL sophisticated features enabled.

Enabling Publish Interfaces

All Publish interfaces (Smart Publish, Publish Lite, and Publish Pro) are enabled in the Admin Console using Profiles. Users have access to the version of Publish enabled for their Profile only.

Launching the Publish App

From the homepage, click the Publish icon from the left-hand App Toolbox. Publish opens in the main window.

To access Publish while in another module, click the plus sign along the bottom (to the right of your app tabs) and select New Publication action from the pop-up menu.

The next step is to select your design theme, device, and layout. Then click the Create button to open a new publication, and begin building your report.
