Accessing Shared Artifacts from Email Notifications

You're looking at this page because you have received an email indicating that an artifact has been shared with you in Pyramid by another user (typically one of your colleagues). This email typically includes the sender's name, a link to the shared item, and its file path in the content manager. Your access to the shared artifact depends on whether you're a Viewer, Analyst, or Pro user.

What's in the Email

The email is customizable, but typically includes the following:

  • Sender Name: Who shared the artifact with you (purple arrow above).
  • Share Link: A direct link that opens the shared file (blue arrow). Note that the artifact will open in the appropriate app based on your user type.
  • File Path: The file path where the content is located in the Content Manager (orange arrow). This is also a link.

Important: Your ability to view or interact with the shared content depends on your user type and the share type selected by your administrator, see below for more information.

What can you do in Pyramid?

What you can do with the artifact that has been shared with you depends on the User Type that you were created as and where the shared artifact was shared from.

Viewers

Viewers can use the different functions available in the discovery viewer or runtime presentation to navigate around the artifact, interrogate it using the Chatbot, gain insights on the data in the Smart Insights panel, do some analysis using Analyze Further, and print the shared artifact. They may also add actionable annotations that other users can see and respond to through an associated Workflow.
