Editing and Deleting Slicers in Present Pro

You can edit slicers in the Slicer Settings panel to change the slicer's content and behavior, or in the Slicer Formatting panel to change the look and feel of the slicer. You can also delete the slicer.

Edit Slicers

To edit a slicer, right-click it on the canvas, in the Slicer panel, or the Interaction Manager. The slicer's context menu contains the editing options:

  • Slicer Settings: Open the Slicer settings dialog to edit the slicer's simple and advanced options. From here, you can change the slicer title, and the slicer type. You can also change the element selection, using Free Selection (select or deselect any elements in the current level of the slicer hierarchy), Level (select specific level of the slicer hierarchy), or Sets (select a custom set).
  • Format: Select Format from the context menu to open the slicer's Formatting panel.
  • Actions: Configure user-guided actions that will trigger dynamic display of a mini-tab container.
  • Scale Mode: Apply scaling preferences to Slicers.
  • Hide on this Slide: Move the Slicer to the Slicer panel and create a hidden slicer.
  • Detach Slicer: Remove slicer interactions from content on slides other than the one currently being viewed.
  • Delete Slicer: Delete the slicer from the presentation (see below for more details about deleting slicers).

Delete Slicers

Slicers can be deleted from the slicer's context menu or the Presentation ribbon. Once you delete your slicer, you will be asked to confirm your selection via the Delete Slicers dialog.

Where the slicer is local to the presentation (is not linked to a discovery) it is deleted from Pyramid. Where the slicer is re-used from a discovery or has been made shareable, it is simply removed from the presentation.

Context Menu

Right-click the slicer on the slide, the Slicer panel, or the Interaction Manager to open its context menu. Click Delete:

Presentation Ribbon

Select the relevant slicer on the presentation slide and then click Delete from the Presentation ribbon. This option is not available from the Slicer panel or the Interaction Manager.

Delete Slicers dialog

After clicking Delete, the Delete Slicers dialog opens, notifying you that all instances of the specified slicer will be removed from the presentation. Click OK to confirm your selection.

Delete Duplicate and Multi-Instance Slicers

You may have multiple copies of the same slicer over different slides of your presentation. There are two ways to add multiple versions of a slicer: you can duplicate an existing slicer, or you can create a new instance of an existing slicer. Duplicate slicers are connected to each other, while separate instances are not. For more information, see Duplicating Slicers in Present Pro.

If you delete a duplicate slicer, all connected duplicate slicers are also deleted. If you delete a slicer which has multiple instances, only the specified slicer is deleted; other instances are not affected.
